Through IDA’s competitive internship and fellowship programs, rising undergraduate seniors and current graduate students can explore the world of research in support of critical national security issues. Their programs offer students hands-on technical experience under the guidance of senior research staff and mentors. Whether working on a stand-alone project or part a larger project, students engage in multiple stages of the analytic process, from framing an issue to communicating results.

IDA takes the time to screen our internship and fellowship candidates carefully, looking for those who are likely to make a valuable contribution over the course of the program. The goal is to have the participating students make the most of their experience at IDA as they transition to pursing higher education and eventually, back at IDA into the national security workforce.
