Stimson interns can expect a challenging and professional environment throughout their internship that will prepare them for full time employment in a professional setting. On a daily basis, interns work closely and consistently with program staff, including their respective program directors. At the close of the internship, intern supervisors are asked to prepare an evaluation of the intern’s performance, and interns are encouraged to evaluate their own experience.
Stimson is committed to professional development. In addition to a variety of weekly programmatic and institutional events, they host a regular development series specifically for interns. This is one of many opportunities for interns to interact with Stimson management and senior associates; leaders in the public (government agencies, NGOs, other think tanks, graduate universities) and private sector (defense contractors, consulting firms); and other individuals who will help interns broaden their interests and skill sets.
